We LOVE Cyber Essentials. It’s a clear, practical way to help protect your business from common cyber threats, and it gets you thinking about the habits that can help keep you safer online in your personal life too.
The National Cyber Security Centre recommends Cyber Essentials as a baseline for all organisations. And the stats back up why we keep talking about it: businesses with Cyber Essentials are 92% less likely to make a cyber insurance claim, according to insurer data.
The NCSC also found that:
- 85% of businesses said Cyber Essentials helped them understand cyber security risks better.
- 88% said it helped them understand what they can do to reduce those risks.
- 91% said it made them more confident about putting those steps into practice.
- 79% said it had a positive effect on the confidence of their customers and clients.
- 95% said they’d certify again next year, and 78% would recommend it to a similar business.
And it can help save time too: 48% of organisations surveyed said they saved time on cyber security checks when a potential supplier had Cyber Essentials.
We really believe it’s a change for good. It gives you a straightforward place to start, helps you build better habits, and shows customers and partners that you take cyber security seriously. It won’t protect you from everything, but getting the basics right makes a real difference.
